Work with James Donald
(a.k.a. WWJD;))
Hi, I’m James. I support purpose-driven leaders, teams, and organisations to grow through clarity, connection, and systems thinking — just now.
I’ve spent 15+ years helping people navigate complexity, align around what matters, and take action that sticks.
My work is tailored, practical, and rooted in real-world change — with real humans.
If you’re:
– Facing a moment of change
– Wanting clarity or momentum
– Trying to bring people together to do meaningful work
Let’s talk.

- Clarity Sprints – Align your team on purpose, priorities, or next steps
- Design Intensives – Build new frameworks or ways of working
- Stakeholder Engagement – Co-design inclusive processes for shared ownership
- Mini-Pilots – Test new ideas with structured learning built in
- Executive Advisory – Thought partnership and strategic sounding board
- Team Dynamics & Conflict Support – Reset relationships and collaboration
- Gatherings & Retreats – Facilitation for honest conversation, vision, and renewal
Who I Work With
I collaborate with:

- Social enterprises and innovation teams
- Public sector leaders
- Mission-aligned private sector orgs
Most of my work is based in South Africa — but I welcome global and remote partnerships too.
What To Expect
Every engagement is customised.
We start with a short, no-pressure conversation to explore what’s alive in your context and whether I can help.
I offer standard and non-profit rates, and I’m open to flexible models for early-stage or long-term work.

WWJD?
It started as a joke from my son — a rainbow wristband saying “What Would James Do?” He liked that our local stationary had combined the Christian faith bands ('What would Jesus do?') with the pride colours. And thought me wearing a What Would James Do? wrist band was funny. I also like how it takes the judgement out of the question and puts love in as something a little rhetorical almost. And self depricating.
I was worried it could be misconstrued. But it's opened only good conversations so far.
And it stuck.
Because that’s how many people I work with use me:
To think things through.
To find energy and clarity together.
To ask: what’s the just thing to do?
What would a beneficiary do? A colleague? A stakeholder? A competitor?
I help you get clear — and move forward, meaningfully. And we have fun. And take a stand.
